Some of you might have noticed over the last couple of days obituaries in the paper for the late playwright Alex Buzo, who came to tech in 2002 to lead the Writer in Residence program.
From memory, our year had Kosta, tilley, chao, darren, areb, some of the skips etc, and apparently when asked what he thought of the classes, Buzo said that he liked all except year 10 who behaved terribly.
Mucking up included muttering various insults at him with his back turned, throwing projectiles at him, pulling out pubic hairs and putting them down peoples backs, treating the whole thing like a joke, and so on. Rather embarrassing now when I read the obituaries and find he was actually one of Australia's greatest playwrights and social commentators. Apparently he wrote a lot about 'manners', what he would've viewed our class as, I have no idea at all.
Was anyone else in that class? If so, comment!
